Dj Nyc was born in Harlem, New York where he was constantly surrounded and inspired by music. As a child his biggest influences were Michael Jackson, Prince, Naughty By Nature, and Notorious B.I.G. He began matching beats and started creating his own blends at the age of 13 on his computer. At age 16 he purchased his turntables and started his DJ career doing private events. Later, he attended Pace University where he DJ’d on Pace’s radio station and later became the official DJ for Pace University events. He has done everything from Bar-B-Qs to Weddings to Radio Shows and has over 15 years of experience of moving crowds.

What sets apart Dj Nyc from other DJs is his ability to manipulate and create live music, what is known as Turntablism. Hip Hop DJs like Grandmaster Flash and Roc Raida incorporated scratching and beat juggling in their performances and it is skills like these that have been lost over the years. In recent years DJ Nyc has opened for Hot 97 DJs and spinned at venues in Manhattan such as Jade Terrace (formerly known as China Club), Vudu Lounge, Honey, Manhatta, Roam, Bamboo 52, Bounce and Solas as well as other tri-state locations.
